Campus Hands: Your Big10 Helpers
Campus Hands is a student-run company based out of Madison, WI, with chapters at UW-Madison and in the Ann Arbor region. Since our launch in 2023, we’ve been dedicated to helping students earn more while providing valuable services to the local community. In fact, we were voted 2024’s “Neighborhood Favorite” on Nextdoor, receiving over 100 favorites within just three months of serving the neighborhood. This recognition not only reflects our commitment to quality but also our deep connection with the Madison community.
We also recognize the financial challenges college students face, as many local employers offer wages that barely exceed $15 per hour. Between rent, dining out, and social activities, students often struggle to make ends meet. At Campus Hands, we're committed to creating better opportunities for students to earn a meaningful income—particularly through our winter snow removal services. This winter, we’re excited to offer students the chance to earn up to $200-$300 in a single day of shoveling snow... It’s an effective way to quickly accumulate funds without being tied to rigid shifts. Our pay-per-house system incentivizes students to work efficiently, rewarding them for their hard work in a way many traditional employers fail to do. As a company founded by UW-Madison students, we understand and appreciate the unique challenges students face, and we’re committed to valuing their time and effort.
"A crowning achievement for the startup, Campus Hands, in the Madison WI Region. They also received this award in Elgin IL as well".
Our Mission: Bridging the Gap between Students and Homeowners
Campus Hands is driven by our mission to connect enthusiastic students from Big Ten universities with homeowners and renters in need of reliable services. By doing so, we’re revitalizing the local economy and fostering a sense of community. We believe this model benefits everyone involved—students earn a competitive wage while providing essential services to the community.
We hope to inspire other neighborhoods, even beyond Big Ten schools, to support their local college students. From advocating for more affordable housing to keeping grocery prices reasonable on campus, there’s much work to be done. After all, not every student has “rich parents” to fall back on, and financial inequality is a stigma many students—regardless of their background—are forced to contend with.
At Campus Hands, we’re committed to making a difference. We will continue to stand by our students and find innovative ways to support their financial well-being, one job at a time.
