Our campus hands were sent to take care of some general house chores, like rotating a few beds in a nice ladies house, as well as changing her old shower head. Everyday chores that our nearby UW-Madison student run Campus Hands can help with! So they spent about 30 minutes making sure everything was perfect for this lady. As they leave, they help her roll up a hose. She wants them to throw it in the garage for her, so they go to open the garage. When they open the homeowners garage, they realize just how much addition work needed to be done.
This is what they saw when they opened that garage door:
We can see what the campus handymen left her with. There was space to park a car in there afterwards, but we decided that we would just put a few miscellaneous containers in there, as she likes to park her car in the driveway anyway.
Campus Hands did not have a garage cleaning on the agenda that night, but they still got it done, and acted right away, relieving the homeowner some more. Her son came home as we were wrapping up and gave our campus hands a few extra shovels and rakes that were found from the garage clean-up, so we thought that was super generous of them!
What a fun project our employed students, and happy homeowners enjoyed! The garage cleaning itself took around 3 hours for two campus handymen. The owner was very satisfied.
