MORE Leaves Means MORE Trouble For The Great Lakes.

Updated: Nov 20, 2023

21 Bags of leaves Bagged, and removed from a house directly across from Lake Monona, in Madison, WI. 21 bags is over 600 gallons of leaves! Campus Hands is really happy to have kept these leaves filled with high Phosphorus levels and Nitrogen levels, away from lake monona, and safely away from anywhere they may cause further damage to our ecosystem.

According to the USGS (United States Geological Survey), timely removal of leaves can reduce Phosphorus levels by 80%.

The removal of leaves form this large lakeshore property took approximately 3 hours. The most time consuming aspects were the heavy winds that day, as well as older leaves bunched up within the bushes.

You can actually see Lake Monona in the background of the first two photos. One is before the leaves were cleared from the bushes, and the other is after the leaves were all blown out of the garden.
